Natural Death:
A commonly used phrase to indicate dying by a normal process, without any intervention that would prolong life. Put simply, ‘let my body die on its own’. Most health care directives that include reference to dying a ‘natural death’ do include the desire for comfort care and pain control.

Next of Kin:

Blood relatives of a person dying intestate who inherit by reason of the applicable provincial legislation.

Notarized or Notarial Copy:
True copy of an original document certified by a lawyer or notary public as being true copy.
